Claire Elise Boucher was born on March 17, 1988. The name she is given is Grimes. [2][3] Early work was called "lo-fi R&B to futuristic dance-pop",[4that draws inspiration from hip-hop and electronic music, as well as rock. The songs she sings often speak to feminist and science fiction themes. Five studio albums have been released by her. Grimes was raised in Vancouver in the early 1990s, before moving to Montreal at the age of 2000. Grimes started releasing her singles at the beginning of 2000. There were 2 albums that were issued through Arbutus Records in 2010, Geidi Primes as well as Halfaxa in 2010. Following her contracting with 4AD the band gained popularity through Visions the fourth studio album. Visions comprises the singles "Genesis" and "Oblivion" and received the Canadian industry's Juno Award for Electronic Album of the Year. Art Angels, her fourth studio album, came out in 2015. Several publications called it the most successful album. In the year 2020, she released Miss Anthropocene (her fifth studio album). Grimes is an official judge of Alter Ego, a music contest.
